Honestly, I just really care. I want you to walk away with images you love. My goal is for you to fall in love with images of yourself, to make you comfortable, and to showcase you at the top of your field.

Other than this, the whole process is tailored, and I’ve worked hard to refine my process to make it the best I can.

Choosing a photographer is a completely personal preference. I stand by that you should choose someone who fits in with you, your values, and your personality. But let’s discuss a little bit about working with me.

I take pride in my work, my process and results. I listen to what people want, but can offer guidance and my professional opinion. My background as a trained professional photographer helps in the skills department too. 

In all sessions held at my studio:

  • Pre-shoot guide & familiarisation survey
  • No outfit limits 
  • A range of background options (including studio and outdoors in a single session)
  • Posing guidance, prompting and advice while we go
  • Professional retouching on the final images

“You on your best day”.

There aren’t any horrible filters or blurring tools used in my retouching process. I’ll remove things like blemishes and flyaways. I’ll also colour correct and adjust contrast and level.

Yes! With all my headshot and branding packages, you may choose extra images. I often find people fall in love with their images and do want to order extras. You can add extras during the proofing process after your shoot.

Yes! I would love to hear about your ideas and desires for your shoot! My pre-shoot survey has a section just for this. Or you can always jot them to me at the time of booking, or via email at any stage.

You’ll get a detailed PDF guide after you book with a bit of extra info on all of this.

As a guide, bring along a range of outfit options that we can try. A hairbrush, ties, and pins are great to have. If you require it, touchup makeup and various lip shades if that’s what you’d like.

For branding sessions, we can discuss any props you might like too. This could range from laptops/phones/cameras to various accessories with your branding colours.


My studio is located in the leaft suburb of Ringwood East, Victoria, at 2/11 Old Lilydale Road.

Yes, absolutely. The studio is located at 2/11 Old Lilydale Road, Ringwood East. 

Nearby is the East ringwood train station. We also have the 380 Ringwood-Croydon loop bus that stops nearby too.

My studio has a beautiful strip of trees that we can photograph your headshots and branding portraits in. This allows us to get soft, natural backdrops.

I want to make sure you get the best out of your session, so sometimes a reschedule will be the best option. If the weather forecast is looking poor for your scheduled shoot I will get in touch with you to come to a resolution. You can choose to switch to a studio session, but we can always reschedule if that’s your preference.

In the case that the weather does spoil shoot plans, we can reschedule for another time with no loss of deposit.

Yes – we can certainly arrange to shoot corporate headshots for staff at my studio.

Payments & Deposits:

You can book online via my online bookings page here.
Simply select your session type, your package, and then choose a date and time on the calendar, then fill in your details and process the deposit.

I offer sessions across Wednesday-Saturday. 

To spend time with my family, I take Sundays and Mondays off at this point in time.

Booking online is the quickest and easiest way to see my full availability for session times, and ensures instant confirmation.

If you do not wish to book online, you may contact me via phone or email to make an enquiry, and I can submit your booking manually. You will be asked to pay a $50 deposit via bank transfer or Paypal to confirm your booking, and an invoice will be sent for this.

Your deposit will be paid via Paypal (account, or with a card) upon booking online – please note that there is no surcharge for your deposit payment.

 Cancellations one week or more prior to the original session booking are fully refunded.
If you cancel with less than one week before your session, you will forfeit your deposit, and there will be no refund of the deposit amount.

Your session can be rescheduled with no loss of deposit if rescheduled 72 hours or more before the original session date/time. Please note: we can always reschedule due to weather disruptions with no loss of deposit.

You’ll get an automatic email confirming your booking details. I’ll also get in touch personally with a follow up, with a PDF guide and invoice for you. This is also when I’ll confirm the address and pass on my pre-shoot survey. 

Bookings can be cancelled.
Cancellations with one week or more notice are fully refunded.
If you cancel with less than one week before your session, you will forfeit your deposit, and there will be no refund of the deposit amount.

Yes, changes can be made to your session time, although depending on when you request a change in time there may be a loss of deposit.

Any changes within 72 hours of your scheduled session will result in a loss of your original deposit, and a new deposit will be required for your new booking.

Changes requested from 48 hours or more prior to the shoot can be made with no loss of the deposit – your original deposit will contribute to your next session.

Deposits for individual bookings are $100. For bookings at your workplace with multiple people, the deposit amount is 50% of the total fee.
A deposit is required for all bookings to be confirmed, and this will be asked to be paid upfront when you book online.

Upon cancelling or changing your booking, please get in touch with me directly by phone or email. I will refund you in the way you have paid your deposit.

Above are the payment options I offer at Julia Nance Portraits. Your payment options will be outlined again in your invoice, which will be emailed to you after you make your booking. You may choose to pay before your session or on the day.

You may also choose to use Afterpay. This will allow you to pay off your session fee or additional images across four fortnightly payments!

Digital Files & Image Delivery

Yes – for all my packages that include digital files you can select the images you would like! 

For digital images (headshots and branding portraits), generally, I try to process your final retouched images in 3-4 working days. During busy times, please allow up to one week after selection for digital files of headshots/portraits to be processed. If you are in a rush, let me know and I will do all that I can to get your images to you when you need.
