Creating a custom stock library with staff branding
Creating A Custom Stock Library With In-Situ Staff Branding Photography
What makes your business unique? You may have many answers for this: location, customer service, your products, your branding.
What often doesn’t come to mind as quickly, is your staff.
In reality, the people with have in our businesses are what makes them most unique. The teams we have bring personality into our businesses, whether they are customer facing or working behind the scenes.
Most of us relate better to people rather than businesses. Putting faces into the business helps us visualise our hard earned money contributing to the Australian community, to families and individuals.
So how does this help you in business?
It’s simple. Introduce your team to the world to help make better connections to your customers, investors, suppliers and other connections.
Tips on creating a custom stock library:
To put your best foot forward, you need to think a few things through before creating a collection of images. Whilst your staff are your best asset, you want to be showing them off just right. Here are a few tips to get organised:
Create a list of shots you need:
To create an effective library of images you need to first determine what it is that you need to show. Consider the other unique selling points of your business. This goes back to that first question I asked.
For example, if you immediately think your products make you unique, then put together a list of images that show your staff interacting with your products (eg: designing them, selling them, holding them).
Give your key staff members the heads up, and schedule it into their calendars:
Most staff shy away from photographs. It’s not everyones favourite activity, so make sure they know well in advance so they can prepare what they would like to wear, their hair and makeup, and how to schedule their day. Tell them what is needed, and what shots you are after. Little details like if they should expect their shoes to be in-shot can be very appreciated.
Find a professional photographer to guide you through it:
There’s no doubt that a professional photographer will give you top-tier quality. You’ll want images that can be used for a range of resources and images that bring the best out of your staff. A photographer will be able to set up and direct your team so that they capture a big range of images that tell the right story.
Select Images that can tie into your website and other marketing:
Consider where the images will be used, and communicate this with your photographer. When selecting your final shots, make sure you think about the specific web pages and marketing applications they will be used for. There’s no point selecting all vertical images if it turns out you need several horizontal banners.
