Lucie, Melbourne Actor & some colour in the studio
I love working with creative people.
Wonderful Lucie visited my Lilydale Studio to get some shots for her acting folio. As well as acting, this talented lady is also a musician, writer and painter! I love meeting my clients and learning about their passions. And it is really inspiring to be around others who also love the creative arts.
I like to try and get to know my clients before and during the shoot – It isn’t just about the photography, it is about the process, and within that process we capture a little more personality. Lucie completed a little survey I send out to all my clients. It allows us to get to know each other – I answer all the questions myself too, so we’re not complete strangers. I learnt from this that Lucie is incredibly passionate about her music, but also other creative areas like painting, and writing. She described herself as both intense and interesting. She had similarities to me: we both love Harry Potter, and we both want a dog.
All these little things come together, so that when shooting with Lucie, it felt more like working with a friend than a stranger. She was excited and driven. It made the whole process so so enjoyable and rewarding for both of us.
I love that Lucie wanted to utilise my new backgrounds for this shoot. My studio has a range of painted backdrops that create fun block-colour. We used a few different backgrounds and light set ups in the studio, for a range of looks, and we used both studio and natural light throughout the shoot.
